Urine-Diverting Toilets
Micro-flush
or no-flush options for urine only
An
EcoTech exclusive! Keeping urine out of the composter extends the
composter's capacity. Urine is usually sterile and contains nearly
all of the nitrogen in excrement. That makes it an ideal nutrient
source for plants, especially mixed with graywater for fertigation.
These attractive porcelain toilet stools were developed in Sweden,
where nitrogen pollution of lakes is a concern.
Only
the urine is flushed, using about 1/10th of a quart of water per
flushor, simply pour-flush as needed.
